YOU ARE INVITED TO BE A PART OF SAN GABRIEL VALLEY’S WATER DAY
and COMPETE FOR $1,500 IN PRIZE MONEY.
The current drought brings the increasingly serious problem of our decreasing water supply to the forefront. Be a part of the solution by becoming a leader in bringing awareness of water issues locally, nationally and globally to our community through meaningful, useful and fun presentations and activities.
We invite you to create a project illustrating an aspect of our current water situation, or to design an action plan for water conservation in your own community. Your project can be based on local and/or global water issues or conservation. We hope to evoke creative ways for students to learn and teach. Presentations may be through artwork, drama, debate, songs, essays, movies, newsletters, posters, a class or club project, an experiment, or something that has yet to be imagined.
Projects will be presented at the weekly Rotary meetings March 3rd through March 10th. The semi-finalists will be voted upon and determined by the Sierra Madre Rotarian and featured at Water Day in Memorial Park on March 21.
Cash prizes will be based upon relevance, depth, viability, ingenuity, creativity and presentation.
Your participation is integral to the success of this flagship event. Please sign up on our Contact Us and Participate tab and submit it no later than March 1st, 2015. Be sure to give us the name and phone number of a project contact person. We are happy to make our local resources, speakers and experts available for your support.
We are excited about this project and hope you are too! If you have any additional questions, please contact Joan Riback (626) 773-2508 e-mail: JoanRiback@gmail.com or Juliann Gibson (626) 833-7506 e-mail: Juliann.H.Gibson@gmail.com
